The Program

The foundations of the proposal for the Graduate Program in Education (PPGE) are based on the priority areas for the University, the analysis of demand and the history of training, teaching experience, research activities, theoretical contributions, and the intellectual productions of the professors. The central objective is to provide training for educators in the practice of research and teaching in different educational settings, emphasizing reflection and critical production.

Initially offering a Master's degree, the PPGE aims to train educators for research and pedagogical work in educational institutions and other educational spaces. It prioritizes reflection and critical production through three lines of research: "Education and Knowledge Production in Pedagogical Processes," "Education, Language, and Memory," and "Training and Management in Educational Processes."

In the Doctorate in Education of the PPGE, the aim is to expand the investigative nature in the field of Education, particularly concerning language, knowledge production in education, management, organization, and the purpose of pedagogical work, viewed through the lens of the epistemological, historical, and political foundations (their different forms of grounding and justification) of educational processes. As a result, it maintains the three defined lines of research: Education, Language, and Memory; Education and Knowledge Production in Pedagogical Processes; and Training and Management in Educational Processes.

The Doctorate in Education, by integrating foundational aspects of the academic and investigative experience of the Master's program, is situated within the realm of Educational Research, particularly focusing on the investigation of the foundations and educational processes that support educational training and management.
