The Master Degree in Education was designed to meet the demands of former students of Lato Sensu Programs, teachers from public schools, and Professors from High Education Institutions (HEI) as well as from Unesc itself. The proposed Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGE) was created on the basis of the priorities of the University, analysis of demands, our history in training teachers and experience in teaching, research, and theoretical contribution to the production of competent teachers. The main objective of the program is to offer training to educators in order for them to pursue research and teaching in various educational institutions, with emphasis on critical reflection and production.

Objectives

The Postgraduate Program in Education Stricto Sensu, provided initially as a Master’s Degree course, aims to train educators to pursue research and teaching work in educational institutions and other education providers. It promotes critical reflection and production through three lines of research: "Education and Knowledge Production in the Educational Process”, "Education, Language and Memory" and "Training and Management in Educational Process”. Thus, the Master’s degree course in Education aims to: a) promote understanding of different processes of appropriation and production of knowledge, and their pedagogical implications for relationships in different places and at different times; b) offer theoretical and methodological support for the training of researchers; c) enable the creation of professionals able to critically intervene in the organization and execution of educational processes; d) encourage and nurture research groups in the area of education, linked to scientific production and identified with the development of educational processes and contexts.

The classes for the Master’s Degree in Education take place weekly, from Monday to Wednesday, in the mornings and afternoons.
